The below article guides you on how to make a page that will let you create Vendor Profiles on your website. This will create a view where your customers can shop by Vendor/Seller and view their Description, Products and Policies. With the right pictures and theme work, these can be customized to your theme as in the example below.

Step 1 – Create a Liquid Template for Vendor Profile

  1. From your Shopify Admin panel go to Online Store -> Actions -> Edit Code
  2. Go to Templates -> Add a new template -> Select “Page” and a name for it, for example “vendorProfile”. Click on “Create template”
  3. In Shipturtle app, go to “Multi Vendor Settings -> Customize Website”. Under the heading “Add a Vendor Profile page”, click the button “Generate Template code”. Copy the code. Also add the heading for Vendor Profile page. Select the information you want to display on this page. For example – check “Location” only if the location of the Vendor is relevant for your customers to know.
  4. Paste the code into the template “vendorProfile” and click save.

Step 2 – Create a Vendor Profile page

  1. Go to Online Store -> Pages
  2. Add a new page “Shop by Vendor”. Leave the Content blank.
  3. Set the template for the page to the one created above – “page.vendorProfile”
  4. Click the button “Edit website SEO” – ensure the URL for it is https://yourstore.myshopify.com/pages/seller-profile. The last part “seller-profile” is important without which the page will not load.

Step 3 – Add the Profile page to the Website’s Navigation

  1. Go to Navigation -> Menu
  2. Select wherever you want to place the Vendor Profile page. For example on the “Main menu” or the “Footer menu” Click on the desired menu – Click “Add menu item”, set name to whatever you want like “Know your Vendors” and link it to the page “Shop by Vendor” created in Step 2. Click Save

If you see your website now, you should see a page similar to below –

Step 4 – Choose Theme

Go to Vendors -> Multi Vendor Settings(Global) -> Customize Website(Beta). In this tab you will see Choose Theme option as shown in the image below.

“Theme 1” is the default theme. You can select the theme of your preference and click on the Save button.

Step 5 – Add details of your Vendors

Go to Vendors -> Edit Vendor. Add details of the Vendor under the two tabs “Company settings” and “Vendor Profile”. Do this for all your vendors. Or you can enable your vendors to edit their vendor profile page from the Settings -> Multi Vendor Settings -> Customise Website (Beta).

Step 6 – Final Page

This is a sample of how the page will look like depending on the theme of your choice. The look and feel can be customized as per your brand. You can take the help of any web designer for it or reach out to us for minor tweaks.

Step 7 – Using Customer Chat feature

The “Contact us” tab on each Seller profile lets the Customer write a message directly to the Vendor. These messages can be seen by both you and the Vendor under the “Customer Chat” menu on the app. The Vendor can choose to reply to the messages of the customer from this feature directly.

You should see a button that says “Edit Theme Code (Beta)” in the user interface if your chosen theme is theme 1 as shown in the screenshot below. Clicking on this button will take you to a page where you can start editing the code for Theme 1. It’s a new feature we’re testing out, so feel free to explore and let us know what you think. Your feedback will help us make this customization experience even better in the future.

On the displayed screenshot, you’ll find two tabs labeled ‘Edit Theme Template’ and ‘Edit Theme Style.’ These tabs serve distinct purposes, enabling you to modify the structure (skeleton) and appearance (styling) of your page, respectively.
