Vendor Konnect settings - Mapping & lifecycle settings

Mapping & lifecycle settings control how vendor and marketplace products are matched, and what happens to a product if it is unmapped or removed from the vendor's store.

⚡ TL;DR

Go to Settings → Setup and configuration → Vendor Konnect settings, open the Sync settings tab and expand Mapping & lifecycle settings. Choose how products are matched (Mapping rule), whether variants are added and removed automatically, and what happens to a product when it is unmapped or deleted on the vendor's store. Then click Save and confirm your password.

Who this guide is for

Marketplace admins who want to control how vendor products are linked to products on their marketplace, and what happens to those products when the link is removed or the vendor deletes them.

Step-by-step

Step 1: Open Setup and configuration

In the left sidebar, click Settings to expand it, then click Setup and configuration.

Step 2: Open Vendor Konnect settings

In the list of settings on the left of the page, click Vendor Konnect settings. It sits near the bottom of the list, so scroll down if you can't see it.

Step 3: Expand Mapping & lifecycle settings

Make sure the Sync settings tab is selected. The other tab is Multi currency. The Sync settings tab has four sections: Product sync settings, Mapping & lifecycle settings, Order sync settings and Advanced settings. Click Mapping & lifecycle settings to expand it.

Note: All settings on this page apply at a global level across your marketplace. A setting marked with the V badge can be overridden for an individual vendor by editing that vendor from the Vendors listing page.

Step 4: Review the options

The section sets how vendor and merchant products are mapped, and controls what happens to a product if it's unmapped or removed from the vendor's store. It contains five options: Allow vendors to sync their website, Mapping rule, Auto add and auto remove variants on mapped products, Action on product unmapping on app and Action on product deletion on vendor store. The next steps go through them one by one.

Step 5: Allow vendors to sync their website

Allow vendors to sync their website gives the vendor the right to connect their website to their dashboard to sync products and inventory. It is already on for every vendor, so you don't need to turn it on. The checkbox is greyed out and can't be changed from this screen.

To stop a specific vendor from syncing, turn it off on that vendor's own profile page. The setting carries the V badge, so it can be overridden per vendor.

Step 6: Set the Mapping rule

The Mapping rule decides how Shipturtle matches vendor products to your products. By default, it matches on SKU. You can toggle the setting to match on product titles instead. Hover over the info icon beside Mapping rule to see this explanation on screen.

Step 7: Decide whether variants are added and removed automatically

When Auto add and auto remove variants on mapped products is enabled, any variant added or removed on the vendor's store is added or removed on the mapped product too. Hover over the info icon beside the option to read the explanation.

Note: If you are not syncing all product information from the vendor's store (for example, you set your own prices), keep this option off. When it is off, Shipturtle disconnects the entire product if any variant is added, deleted or edited on the vendor's end.

Step 8: Choose what happens when a product is unmapped

Under Action on product unmapping on app, choose how the product should list on your marketplace when it is unmapped in Shipturtle. Open the dropdown and pick one of three options:

  • Delete product on Destination store (Merchant Store)
  • Draft product on Destination store (Merchant Store)
  • Do nothing, product continues to be available on Destination store (Merchant Store)

Step 9: Choose what happens when a vendor deletes a product

Under Action on product deletion on vendor store, choose how the product should list on your marketplace when the vendor deletes it from their own store. The same three options are available: delete it, set it to draft, or do nothing so it stays available.

Tip: Draft product on Destination store is a safe middle ground. The product is hidden from shoppers but kept on your marketplace, so you can review it before deciding to delete it.

Step 10: Save and confirm your password

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. Shipturtle asks you to confirm your password before the changes are applied. Enter your password and click Confirm.

FAQs

How does Shipturtle know which vendor product matches mine?

Through the Mapping rule. By default it matches on SKU. You can switch it to match on product titles.

How do I stop one vendor from syncing their store?

Turn off Allow vendors to sync their website on that vendor's own profile page. The global setting stays on for everyone else.

What happens to a product when it is unmapped?

That depends on Action on product unmapping on app. You can delete the product on your marketplace, set it to draft, or do nothing so it stays available. Doing nothing is the default.

What happens if a vendor deletes a product from their own store?

That depends on Action on product deletion on vendor store. It offers the same three options: delete, draft, or do nothing. Doing nothing is the default.

Should I turn on Auto add and auto remove variants?

Turn it on if you sync all product information from the vendor's store, so variant changes carry over to the mapped product. If you set some of your own product information, such as prices, keep it off.

Troubleshooting

A mapped product was disconnected after the vendor changed a variant

Auto add and auto remove variants on mapped products is off, and when it is off Shipturtle disconnects the entire product if any variant is added, deleted or edited on the vendor's end. Turn the option on if you sync all product information from the vendor, then map the product again.

I can't see Vendor Konnect settings in the list

The list of settings on the left is longer than the visible area. Scroll down the list to find Vendor Konnect settings.
