How Coffeeteca Powers a Pan-European Coffee Marketplace with Shipturtle

Coffeeteca is a B2C multi-vendor marketplace bringing together independent specialty coffee roasters from across Europe under a single storefront, alongside curated brewing equipment and accessories. Rather than making coffee lovers search country by country to find quality roasters, Coffeeteca gives customers one destination to discover, compare, and order from multiple European roasters at once. Shipturtle built the multi-vendor platform behind Coffeeteca and delivered a custom shipping integration with SendCloud, automating order fulfillment across multiple European countries as the marketplace scaled.

INTRO

Coffeeteca was built around a simple observation: Europe has some of the best specialty coffee roasters in the world, but finding them has always meant searching one country, and one website, at a time. Inspired by the convenience of Trade Coffee in the US, the Coffeeteca team set out to build a single destination where coffee lovers could explore and buy from independent European roasters without visiting dozens of separate sites.

That meant building a genuine multi-vendor marketplace rather than a single-brand storefront, bringing together roasters like Know How Coffee from Amsterdam, Caffenation from Belgium, Stein V from the Netherlands, and Think Unlimited from Hasselt, each with their own roasting philosophy and sourcing relationships, onto one platform.

A pan-European coffee marketplace introduces a logistics problem most single-country marketplaces never have to solve: coffee needs to be roasted to order and delivered fresh, but vendors are spread across different countries with different carriers and shipping rules. Managing that consistently, at the point where a roaster in Belgium and a roaster in the Netherlands both need to fulfil orders to customers anywhere in Europe, was the operational challenge standing between Coffeeteca's concept and a workable business.

Shipturtle built the multi-vendor marketplace infrastructure underneath Coffeeteca and worked directly with the team on a custom fulfillment integration built specifically for this cross-border shipping problem.

BRIDGING GAPS WITH SOLUTIONS

What Were Coffeeteca's Biggest Challenges Building a Pan-European Marketplace?

Coffeeteca's core challenge was operational rather than product-related: assembling a genuinely pan-European vendor network is only half the job if fulfillment cannot keep pace with roasters and customers spread across different countries.

Automating Multi-Country Order Fulfillment

The challenge: With roasters based in different European countries all needing to fulfil orders to customers anywhere on the continent, Coffeeteca needed a shipping setup that could route and automate deliveries consistently, rather than relying on each roaster to handle cross-border shipping manually.

The solution: Shipturtle built a custom shipping integration connecting Coffeeteca with SendCloud, automating order fulfillment across multiple European countries. This let vendors ship efficiently to customers anywhere in Europe while Coffeeteca maintained one consistent delivery experience regardless of which roaster fulfilled a given order.

Scaling Multi-Vendor Operations Without Losing Curation

The challenge: Coffeeteca's value proposition depends on curation: every roaster is hand-picked for quality and roasting philosophy rather than opened up to self-serve listing. Scaling the vendor network needed to happen without turning the marketplace into an unmanaged, high-volume storefront.

The solution: Shipturtle's multi-vendor operations layer let Coffeeteca onboard and manage independent roasters individually, each with their own listings and fulfillment responsibilities, while keeping the centralized quality control that defines the Coffeeteca brand experience for customers.

IMPACT

What Has Coffeeteca Achieved With Shipturtle?

With Shipturtle's multi-vendor platform and custom SendCloud integration in place, Coffeeteca has built the operational foundation to run a coffee marketplace that spans multiple European countries from a single storefront.

A Genuinely Pan-European Roaster Network

Coffeeteca now connects customers with independent specialty roasters from across Europe, including Belgium and the Netherlands, each maintaining their own roasting philosophy and sourcing relationships while operating through the same marketplace experience.

Automated, Consistent Fulfillment Across Borders

The custom SendCloud integration Shipturtle built means orders route and ship automatically across multiple European countries, removing what would otherwise be a manual, error-prone cross-border logistics problem for a marketplace at Coffeeteca's stage.

THE RESULTS

Coffeeteca today operates as a curated, pan-European specialty coffee marketplace, with Shipturtle's platform handling the multi-vendor operations and cross-border fulfillment underneath it. The custom SendCloud integration in particular solved a logistics problem that is specific to marketplaces spanning multiple countries, and one that would have been difficult to manage manually as the roaster network continued to grow.

As Coffeeteca continues to add roasters and expand its footprint across Europe, the fulfillment infrastructure Shipturtle built is designed to scale with that growth rather than require a fresh logistics rework for every new country added.
