Guide to Vendor Store Connect

Simple Guide to Understanding the Feature, Setup & Workflows

Vendor Store Connect allows vendors to link their own online stores—Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Magento, Etsy, eBay, etc.—to your marketplace so products, inventory, and orders sync automatically.

This removes manual effort for vendors and ensures your marketplace always stays updated.

1. What This Feature Does (Quick Overview)

  • Real-time two-way inventory sync
(Merchant → Vendor, Vendor → Merchant)
  • Product import & product mapping from vendor store
  • Order push so vendors receive marketplace orders in their store
  • Vendor fulfillment → tracking auto-updates on merchant store
  • Merchant control over approvals, update rules, and customer data visibility
  • Platform-specific add-ons required for each vendor platform

Not synced: metafields, discounts, locations (unless add-on used), sales channels.

2. What Merchant Needs Before Enabling It

Merchants must purchase two add-ons per platform.
Example (for Shopify vendors):

  • Vendor Shopify Inventory Sync
  • Vendor Shopify Order Push

Only after this, the Vendor Store Sync/Connect module becomes visible to both merchant and vendor.

3. Store Connection – How Stores Get Linked

Workflow

Merchant purchases add-ons → Module appears for vendor → Vendor opens Vendor Portal → Vendor Store Sync → Click “Connect” → Approves platform permissions → Connection successful

After connection:

  • Merchant sees vendor products under Connected Vendor Store
  • Vendor sees them under Vendor Website Sync

4. Product Sync: Add & Map (Simple Breakdown)

Vendors can:

  • Add (import) products from their store to merchant’s store
  • Map their store products to existing merchant products

By default, everything requires merchant approval, unless auto-approve is enabled.

Workflow

Vendor selects products from ‘Vendor website sync’ tab → Add or Map → Goes to merchant for approval → Merchant approves (or auto-approve does it) → Products become live on merchant store

5. Product Update Rules – “At Create” vs “At Update”

Located under:
Multivendor Settings → Vendor Shop Sync Settings

  • At Create = what syncs when product is first imported
  • At Update = what syncs when vendor later edits the product

Example:
If Description = At Create ON, At Update OFF → first import includes description, later vendor edits do not sync.

Important:

  • These rules apply globally to all vendors
  • You cannot set different rules per vendor
  • Approval settings do not apply to synced products—if updates are allowed, they sync instantly

6. Inventory Sync (Real Time)

  • Two-way
  • Instant
  • Always pushed to merchant’s default location unless merchant uses Locations Add-On
  • Shipturtle does not sync metafields, discounts, locations, sales channels
  • All vendor products are fetched regardless of their locations or sales channels

7. Order Sync (Order Push) – How It Works

Requires:

  • Order Push add-on
  • Order Sync toggled ON in settings

Workflow

Customer orders on merchant store → Order appears in merchant & vendor Shipturtle → If order push ON → Order created on vendor store → Vendor fulfills → Tracking auto-updates back to merchant store

Vendor also gets email notifications.

8. Order Edits, Cancellations & Customer Data Sharing

Merchant order edits automatically update on vendor store for:

email, phone, tags, notes, metafields, marketing preferences, shipping address attributes.
Item-level edits are not synced.

Order cancellations

When merchant cancels an order, cancellation pushes to vendor store automatically.

Customer data sharing

Merchant may choose to:

  • Share customer details
  • Or only share merchant details

Setting:
Multivendor Settings → Vendor Shop Sync → Order Sync Settings

9. Platform Limitations

Each platform supports different capabilities.
Some platforms may not support:

  • Order creation(push)
  • Customer detail sharing
  • Variant-level updates
  • Refund sync
  • Some advanced Shopify properties

Shipturtle flags these limitations wherever applicable.

10. Advanced Controls for Merchants

Multicurrency Add-On

Converts products from vendor store currency → merchant store currency.

Vendor Price Adjustment Add-On

Global markups/markdowns for a vendor’s products.

Vendor Option Override

Merchant can rename variant options and values (e.g., “Brick Red” → “Red”).
