Digital products, such as eBooks and MP3 files, do not require physical shipping. Follow the steps below to upload digital files to Shipturtle and deliver them to customers when ordered.
Create custom fields for digital files
Navigate to, Settings > Multi Vendor Settings > Product Meta Settings.
Click "Add Custom Field" and enter the field name and field type. Make sure to check the option for "Digital Product" to indicate that the files uploaded here should be sent to the customer upon ordering.
Add digital files to the products
To manage digital products:
Go to Products → Manage Products.
- To add a new product, click Add Product and select Digital Product as the product type.
- To convert an existing product, click the Edit icon and change the product type to Digital Product.
Fulfill Orders
When a new order arrives, click the fulfill icon for digital products (different from the Shipping label icon used for physical products) to send the digital files to the customer. The customer will receive an email containing the download links.
1. New orders: Upon receiving an order in the "New Orders" tab, merchants/vendors have the option to confirm, hold, or cancel it. Users can also generate invoices, and send emails within this tab.
2. Confirmed: In the "Confirmed" tab, users can view the orders to be processed and fulfill them. Users can also generate invoices, and send emails within this tab.
3. Delivered: Once the order is fulfilled it will move to the " Delivered" tab
4. Held: Access all the held orders in the "Held" tab, here you can either fulfill the order or move it to the New Order tab.
5. Cancelled: Access all canceled orders in the "Cancelled" tab. Cancelling the order here will not cancel the order on Shopify.
Troubleshooting / Frequently Asked Questions
1. What kind of files can be uploaded as Digital documents?
Most files like doc, pdf, xls, etc. can be uploaded as Digital documents.
2. Is there a limit to the size of the files?
Yes, there are reasonable size restrictions. To adjust the upload size:
Navigate to Settings → General Settings → Upload Size Settings.
From here, you can set the maximum file size to up to 20 MB.
3. Is there a way to automate the fulfillment of digital orders?
Yes, absolutely. You can easily enable this from your dashboard. Simply log in, go to:
Settings → Multi-vendor Settings → Order Settings, and turn on Auto-fulfill digital orders. Once enabled, all digital orders will be fulfilled automatically without any manual intervention.
