AI Prompt (Listing Genie)

Create consistent, on-brand product titles and descriptions using reusable AI prompts. Configure once, apply at scale.

What is AI Prompt?

AI Prompt lets you define reusable instructions (“prompts”) for generating product titles and descriptions. You can set defaults per category, control tone and length, and turn on filters for profanity or personal information. Once set, you can apply prompts to a single product or across many products with Bulk Enhance.

Prerequisites

  • Plan & Credits: Ensure the Enhance AI add-on is active and you have available AI credits. If credits run out, top up from Settings → Billing & Subscription—> Listing Genie Credits.
  • Optional: If you want category-specific prompts, set up your Product Categories first (Products → Manage Categories). Otherwise, your default global prompt is used.

Add Product Categories (Optional)

If your store already has categories, skip this step.

Navigate to: Products → Manage Categories → Add Category → Create New Category

  1. Create your product categories.
  2. Click Save.

Note: If no categories are configured, the global (company-level) prompt will be applied automatically.

Next: Go to Menu → Ship AI → Listing Genie → Manage Prompts to add your prompt.

Where to find it

Navigate to: Menu → Ship AI → Listing Genie → Manage Prompts. You’ll see your available AI credits at the top.

Tips

  • You can save prompts with only Title or only Description.
  • Keep Title prompts concise (e.g., “Include brand, model, key attribute, avoid fluff, ≤ 70 chars”).

Manage Prompts

  • Edit: Click the pencil icon, update fields, Save.
  • Set Default: Use the toggle to mark a prompt as Default for its category. Only one default per category.

  • Search & Filter: Filter by Category or Title to find prompts quickly.
  • Fallback logic: If a product’s category has a default prompt, that one is used; else the global (company) prompt applies.

Credits & Billing

  • Each AI generation consumes credits.
  • Check or top up credits at Settings → Billing & Subscription (one-time top-ups of 5000 credits available).

Best Practices:

  • One default per category: Create focused prompts per category (e.g., “Running Shoes”, “Kitchen Appliances”).
  • Keep it structured: Ask for specific elements (brand, model, two key attributes) and a strict character cap for titles.
  • Safety: Enable Profanity and PII filters to keep content clean and compliant.

Troubleshooting:

  • Can’t Save Prompt? Ensure Title Prompt or Description Prompt has content and Character Limit is set.
  • No Category Found? The system falls back to your global prompt automatically.
  • Enhance Button Disabled / Fails? You may be out of credits. Top up in Settings → Billing & Subscription.
  • Email notifications not arriving after updates? See Troubleshooting Email Issues for SMTP setup and logs. (Shipturtle)
  • Want branded email sending? See Add Custom Email Domain & Notifications for Gmail/Microsoft SMTP steps and verification. (Shipturtle)

FAQs

Q. Can I have multiple defaults for a single category?
No. Only one default per category. If none is set, the global prompt applies.

Q. Will Bulk Enhance overwrite existing content?
Yes. Enhancing updates the product’s Title/Description based on the selected prompt and can’t be undone from this screen. Consider exporting products before bulk changes.

Q. Do filters affect both Title and Description?
Yes. Profanity and PII filters apply to whichever fields you generate.
