Vendors log into a dedicated dashboard that shows only their own data — their products, orders, payouts, and messages. They cannot see other vendors' information or access marketplace-wide settings. This article explains what vendors see and do in their dashboard, and what the merchant can configure to control that experience.
Who this is for
- Merchant: Use this to understand what your vendors experience, so you can onboard them confidently and answer their questions.
- Vendor: This is an overview of your dashboard sections.
What vendors see when they log in
The vendor dashboard opens to a summary view showing recent order activity, pending actions, and sales highlights for their account.
Dashboard sections
Orders
All orders for the vendor's products. Vendors can view order details, check fulfillment status, update tracking information (if permitted by the merchant), and download order documents. They see only orders that contain their products — not other vendors' orders.
Products
Add new products, edit existing listings, update prices and inventory, and check approval status. Vendors cannot approve their own products — submissions go to the merchant's approval queue unless auto-approval is enabled.
Payouts
Displays amounts due for completed orders, historical payouts received, and commission details per order. Vendors cannot release their own payouts — that action is controlled by the merchant.
Messages
Shows announcements sent by the merchant to all vendors. If the Ask a Seller add-on is enabled, customer inquiries about the vendor's products appear here for direct response.
Settings
Vendors can update their profile details, shop name, contact information, and store preferences. They cannot see or edit General Settings — those are merchant-only. If the merchant has enabled vendor store sync, vendors can connect their own Shopify or WooCommerce store from this section.
What merchants can configure about the vendor experience
As the merchant, you control what vendors can and cannot do:
- Customer information visibility — choose whether vendors see customer name, email, phone, and address. Useful for marketplaces that want to keep customer data private.
- Order actions — enable or disable the ability for vendors to cancel orders, hold orders, or move orders to in-transit without fulfillment. Configure these in Setup & Configuration → Order Settings.
- Shipping access — share your carrier integrations with vendors so they can generate their own shipping labels, or keep fulfillment centralized.
- Vendor store sync — allow vendors to connect their own external store to sync inventory and orders automatically. Enable this in Setup & Configuration → Vendor Konnect Settings.
- Advanced permissions — restrict or expand what specific vendors can do with role-level access controls (available as an add-on).
FAQs
Can vendors see other vendors' products or pricing? No. Each vendor's dashboard is completely isolated. They see only the data associated with their own account.
Can a vendor change the commission rate they're charged? No. Commission rates are set by the merchant in Setup & Configuration → Commission & Payout. Vendors can see their commission amounts in the Payouts section but cannot modify the rates.
What happens when a vendor submits a product for the first time? The product enters the merchant's approval queue in the Products section of the admin dashboard (unless auto-approval is on). The vendor sees the product with a Pending status until the merchant approves or rejects it.
Troubleshooting
A vendor says they can't find a section in their dashboard. Certain sections — like Vendor Konnect or Ask a Seller — only appear if the merchant has enabled the corresponding feature or add-on. Check Setup & Configuration to confirm the relevant feature is active for that vendor.
A vendor says their submitted product isn't showing up. The product is likely in the approval queue. Open Products → Approve in the merchant admin and check for the pending submission. If it's not there, the product may have been rejected — check the vendor's product list for a Rejected status.
