Digital products are products like Ebooks, MP3 files etc. which do not need to be physically shipped. Follow the steps below to upload digital files on Shipturtle and send them to customers when ordered.
Digital products upload facility is only available on higher plans. Please see our pricing page on the website.
Step 1: Create a custom field for Digital files
- Go to Vendors -> Multi Vendor Settings -> Product Settings -> Custom Product Addition
- Click “Add Custom Field”
- Enter the field name and field type. Also check the option for “Digital Product”. This will indicate that the files uploaded here need to be sent to the customer on ordering.
Step 2: Add Digital files to the Product
- Go to the Digital products in Shipturtle on the Products tab. Enter Full Edit mode and upload the required files.
- Ensure that for the product the setting “This is a physical product” is disabled – this indicates that it is a digital product.
Step 3: Fulfill Order
When a new order comes in, click the fulfill button for digital products (distinct from the Ship button for physical products) to send the digital files to the customer. The customer will receive an email with the links to download them.

1. What kind if files can be uploaded as Digital documents?
Most files like docx, pdf, xls etc. can be uploaded as Digital documents.
2. Is there a limit to the size of the files?
Yes there are reasonable size restrictions. However if more space is needed, we can upgrade accounts in line with your space requirements.
