Migrating product-level meta-fields with Shopify is straightforward and user-friendly.
Steps to create metafields in shipturtle :
1. The first step is to add metafields. Go to Vendors > Multi Vendor Settings (Global) > Product Settings. (or just click here). Here, you are getting the list of existing metafields. You can add a new metafield, as per your requirement.
2. Click ‘ADD CUSTOM FIELD’ to create the new metafield. You need to fill in some information regarding the metafields.
3. The fields should have the following information:
- Fields For – As of now shipturtle provides the metafields on the product level so this field is fixed.
- Field Name – Enter the metafield name
- Field Type – choose the field type based on your requirements
- Digital Product – Check this box if you want to add a custom field for storing digital data such as photos, MP3s, documents, etc.
- With a quick click on Save, you’ll add a new metafield to your Shopify store. Plus, effortlessly integrate it with Shipturtle for enhanced functionality. It’s that simple!
4. Now you can locate this metafield in the Shopify metafield section. You can change the value from both the Shipturtle app and Shopify, and it will reflect in both places. Enjoy!
Additional information:
- When creating a metafield on Shopify, it’s placed under the UNPINNED metafield list. This is because Shopify has limits on PINNED metafields, so we create them sparingly. However, if you prefer, you can easily move the metafield to the PINNED list using the Shopify admin interface.
- Please note that Shipturtle does not currently support syncing existing metafields created from Shopify. To ensure compatibility, metafields should be created and deleted directly from the Shipturtle platform.
- Shopify is not allowing to insert image in Metafiled, so Image which you insert un Shipturtle will be converted in URL In Shopify Metafiled. With the help of your website developer, you can show URL as image on your website
